MATT OKINE (BOILERMAKERS)

Artists to watch in 2017: Coda Conduct, Gill Bates

Matt Okine: “To say that Coda Conduct breakthrough in 2017 is a bit rough because they’re already on the rise, but with new opportunities on national radio allowing their creativity and sense of humour to shine, they’ll start getting a newfound respect from music-lovers australia-wide.”

“I thought 2016 was big for Gill Bates, but 2017 is definitely his year. I think we’ll really see this young Brisbane artist leave the guest verses behind, and take up pole position on centre stage.”

MALLRAT

Artist to watch in 2017: Cult Shotta

Mallrat: “I love Cult Shotta! They’re a Sydney duo, super super super fresh and fun. I think they’re Australia’s answer to Odd Future.”

HAU

Artist to watch in 2017: Turquoise Prince

Hau: “I’ve obviously met talented people over the years, but when I met Turquoise Prince, I had never met anyone as talented nor as focused or driven as he is. The dude can sing, rap, write, produce, play instruments and knows exactly where he wants to go and how he will get there. It’s quite inspiring to be around. He has dropped a few tunes here and there, but this year will be the year he drops an actual project and I got a feeling it’s going to do really well.”

IVAN OOZE

Artists to watch in 2017: Midas.Gold, Kaé

Ivan Ooze: “Midas had an unstoppable run in 2016 and I’m keen to see him escalate to even higher heights in 2017. He carries this aura of energy with him when he performs and it’s executed perfectly within his music. You should fuck with Midas.”

“Kaé has so much steeze when he spits! Phenomenal flow accompanied with a hella dope voice and very confident presence. Really keen to see what he does over 2017 because i personally fuck with his shit hard! Shout out Gremlns too. You’re all dope as fuck. Check em out.”
