Thundamentals Release Progressive New Single ‘Wolves’

On the brink of releasing their brand new album, Everyone We Know, the Thundamentals crew have just dropped their most adventurous and impressive single to date.

Wolves is a dark, trap-influenced track that touches on the lockout laws in Sydney, and how the laws are making it just about impossible for live acts and creatives to thrive within the local scene. To put it bluntly, this is the Mike Baird diss track that we’ve been waiting for.

The legends over at Keep Sydney Open premiered the new single, along with the accompanying visuals, in what was a fitting collaboration between the two.

While the message behind the song is a powerful one, the music doesn’t take a backseat at all. Jeswon features on the eerie, auto-tuned hook that is more of an anthem than a typical chorus, setting the mood for the passionate verses to follow. Tuka delivers arguably the most inventive and experimental verse he’s ever performed, with a flow that takes the single to an entirely different level, sonically.

“You don’t give a shit about us, motherfuckin’ Mike Baird, blood sucker you are killing my buzz”

Both emcee’s deliver our two favourite verses of 2017 so far, with an important message and killer flows. Their new album Everyone We Know drops a week from now, on the 10th of February, and we couldn’t be more excited, as we discussed HERE.

We can only hope that Gladys Berejiklian, New South Wales’ newly appointed premier, doesn’t follow the same uninspired path that Mike Baird did.
