Melbourne-based record label WVS threw one of the biggest Hip-Hop showcases in the nations history earlier this month with Big Swell, now, they’ve put together a compilation to highlight the amazing artists that performed at the event.
WVS are quickly becoming Australia’s most respected Hip-Hop-based record label and the Big Swell event they threw with Complex AU only further proves that statement. Not only did they organise one hell of an event, they made sure that they had a healthy mix of raw, exciting up-and-comers and established emcee’s perform on the night.
The Big Swell compilation is jam-packed with 12 of the dopest songs to come out of the Hip-Hop scene in Australia over the last 12 months, all from artists who performed at the Big Swell event.
Some of the highlights of the tape come in the form of WVS label-mates Kwasi and HFNR with their hit Thrash Out (No Tradition), as well as Petero Thony‘s No No (Hennessy), Travy P x Manu Crooks‘ 24/7, I.E‘s OMW! and Poppy‘s Ocean, among others.
The compilation tape is the perfect starter-guide to the goings on in Hip-Hop right now in this country, and we recommend that you check it out.
