6 Acts Not To Miss At 2017’s Sprung Hip-Hop Festival

Sprung Hip-Hop Festival is back in 2017 following a four-year absence, and to mark the occasion, they’ve put together what is quite possibly the most exciting line-up in the festivals history.

The festival, which will take place at the Gold Coast’s Parkwood Precinct on October 28th, features some huge names, including ILLY, Allday and A.B. Original on the bill, as well as some exciting new talent such as Coda Conduct, Travy P and Carmouflage Rose.

In celebration of pre-sale tickets being available NOW for this year’s Sprung, we decided to look at 6 artists performing at the festival that are not to be missed.

It’s doubtful that anyone will miss this set, but we couldn’t leave it out. Allday has transcended Hip-Hop in Australia, cracking into the overseas market as well as mainstream media within the country.

Following his widely successful 2014 debut album Startup Cult, Allday dropped bits and pieces on route to the release of Speeding, the sophomore album that had everything we’d hoped, and then some.

Allday can get soulful and introspective as well as loose-lipped and hyped-up, which is what you can expect live from the fan-favourite at Sprung.

His heavy, effervescent banger Sides will likely be the pick of the bunch at the festival, as well as one of his most successful singles to date, In Motion. Hope you’re ready to get loose.

Tkay Maidza

One of Australia’s most successful international exports Tkay Maidza will be returning to the Gold Coast when she takes to the stage at Sprung, and her performance will be one not to be missed.

Following a wave of successful hits, such as Simulation and M.O.B., Tkay wow’d crowds across the globe in 2017 with her rapid-fire flows and bubbly, electronic vibes, touring North America and Europe to a huge reception.

As one of the biggest names on Sprung’s 2017 bill, Tkay Maidza will energise a huge crowd with her infectious array of hit songs, so we recommend that you’re in attendance for her set.

Ivan Ooze

Renowned for his untamed, high-octane performances, Ivan Ooze‘s place at Sprung can’t be questioned, and making sure you catch uzi live is a no-brainer.

The burn-city rapper’s music is custom built for wildin’ out live to, with huge bass-lines and unorthodox flows meeting to create some dynamic, animated music that you can’t help but get rowdy to.

From the Ghostface Killah collaborative single Bills, to his latest club banger Bounce That, Ooze will be going BUCK in the Gold Coast, and if you manage to catch him live you will be too.

B Wise

B Wise will be keeping his festival run alive and well at Sprung, with the Sydney rapper having performed at a host of festivals across the last 18 months, from Groovin’ The Moo to The Secret Garden fest, and there’s good reason as to why he continues to get booked.

With a seamless blend of concise lyricism and a natural steeze on the mic, B Wise has built himself up to become a master-of-all-trades, slaying everything from electronic to boom-bap production with conviction and charisma.

No Questions, taken from his 2016 Semi Pro EP, is a climactic, electronic-inspired hit that comes with some first class storytelling and a compelling energy that will have the crowd moving, making the talented emcee a must-watch live at Sprung.

Make a wise choice this October and make sure you go check out the south-west Sydney rapper.

Everything Midas touches turns to.. a certified hit.

One of the countries most promising artists, BNE rapper and REAL Music signee Midas.Gold has performed alongside the very best in the nation, opening up for acts such as Thundamentals and 360 (in September), whilst also having played at 2016’s Listen Out festival.

With grand, mosh-worthy bangers such as 000000 and $$$, it’s a safe bet that Gold will produce exactly that on stage, with what will potentially be one of the most insane sets of the day.

Carmouflage Rose

Carmouflage Rose is one of Australia’s most sonically diverse artists right now, and his set will undoubtedly be one full of good-vibes and high energy. The Brisbane rappers style ranges from hard-hitting trap-inspired heaters, to grimey bangers and even soulful, R&B anthems, which is on show with his latest single, Late Nights.

Carmouflage Rose is one artist you really won’t want to miss at Sprung, as he delivers a healthy cocktail of well-known and unreleased hits, all at full-throttle.

Tickets will be available this Thursday, the 24th of August
