This last week or two we were gifted to an abundance of eclectic new Hip-Hop from across the country, including a host of heavy hitting new singles from some of Australia’s best new rappers, here are some of our favourites.
FIGUERO JONES – FORTUNES
Perth rapper Figuero Jones delivered Fortunes last week, a captivating, snappy early-hours club hit that effortlessly melds Hip-Hop and R&B influences, making for yet another genre-bending banger our of the 6k. Oh, also, here’s an exclusive look at the brand new lyric video for Fortunes.
MIDAS.GOLD – LOVE ME LIKE ALISON
Midas.Gold drops ‘promo’ songs that sound more polished than a lot of artists best work, and with Love Me Like Alison, he’s done it again, one-upping his last (aptly titled) throwaway tune, Promo.
ARK A – WHATEVER YOU WANT
MIA Melbourne artist Ark-A is back at last, with the first of his many releases to come, Whatever You Want. The single heavily samples Sports’ track of the same name, however, the burn city songwriter adds his own spin with indie and Hip-Hop influences shining through.
MANU CROOK$ – FUEGO (ft. ANFA ROSE)
Fuego sees Sydney-to-the-world rapper Manu Crooks team up with common collaborator Anfa Rose for a sultry, steamy showing that is sure to rattle clubs in the early hours for a while to come. With Fuego, Crooks has once again simultaneously displayed his quality, consistency and versatility.
MOOM$ – SUIES
Melbourne rapper Moom$, who is a member of alternative Hip-Hop collective Flimsey Lohan, has come through with a smooth, sluggish solo effort that fuses clever bars with sparse, boom-bap production and a soulful vocal sample that cuts through the vibe beautifully.
Brisbane producer HARVEY has also dropped some brand new exclusive beats. Rappers, check them out here.
