REVIEW: Dexter Seamus w/ Tazzy, MIM & Spiritus (LIVE in SYDNEY)

Following a name change and the release of his new single Favourite Colour (featuring Esoterik), Melbourne emcee Dexter Seamus lit up Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory last Friday night with the help of Spiritus, Tazzy and MIM.

Kicking off the night was rising alt-pop artist MIM, who took to the stage with a soulful voice and magnetic presence, with rattling R&B inspired production serving as her canvas for the night, as she put together an engaging and electric performance.

Before Dexter took to the stage, we were treated yet again to another powerful voice – this time in the form of Sydney queen Tazzy, who dished up a serving of face-melting, unreleased bangers, before delivering a flawless performance of her debut single Honest Rap Song.

Opening up his set with the fittingly titled Dexter Seamus, the burn city product slickly spat the heavy boom-bap cut with ease, before inviting Spiritus to back him up on his forthcoming tracks.

Dexter Seamus kept the vibes coming, sprinkling some unreleased material in amongst existing hits such as 4AM and Favourite Colour as well as throwbacks including No Biggie and Viewbank, the latter to which he closed out the show to in front of a bouncing Oxford Art Factory.
